Scout shooting abilities

hey guys. I have a question. When i use scout, do i have to aim for the head to get a kill? I shot at the enemies on the back without killing them. Therefore, only when the enemy is standing still and I aim for the head then is the enemy killed. Can you guys enlighten me about this?

if you hit the body his health will go down but not always kill him (depends on how much health he has) out right, as you shoot higher up the body the damage to his health will be greater. whereas head shots .......well im sure you know
