Well both. He should elaborate on all of the risks that come from using it in a certain way.
I.E: Certain commands that put you on the Vac Radar. (With the console.)

so im guessing that if you have been previously banned its still impossible to play in a ranked server. reason asking i got banned for esp program 4 days ago and i just now looked to see if this program allowed me to still play on that account and it logged into steam while game was running however when i go to join a ranked public server match it just sits me in the lobby and rolls through the ping list while searching for players.

Well, right now it's impossible to join ranked servers ALONE.
But if you have a friend that is unbanned download Vac Chaos and use the Bypass Ban Option and host a party, you can join him and force host for the actual game. Thus being in a ranked match.

I've semi-what done this without my friend using chaos but I only got to play for 5 minutes before getting kicked by Iwnet.
I think AgentGod should post an FAQ with questions like this on the main post.

No one will know if its actually safe for a while (a week at minimum). When I get my new MW2 account, I will probably go ahead and use it, but of course Im pretty reckless.

Yeah... I'm going too aswell. It's only 20$ after-all... I'm going to TRY to play by the books though and not completely od on it. I want to see if it's safe when using it fairly.
I don't use aimbots or anything but strictly use it for console/game customization.

this will never be safe as long as it is public. sooner or later some goodie anti hacker boy will get his hands on this and send it to steam.
steam will crack open this file, do a ninja update and BAM. more bans.

@fygas I don't think VAC is much worse than Punk Buster. The Steam and Vac part wasn't the down side IMO.
Mainly just the lack of Dedi-Server support, or even a vote to kick feature led it down-hill.

@stve&Doh Listen, a lot of people DID misuse it last time. I'm going to rebuy the game and use it VERY carefully and confirm once and for all if it's safe. I HOPE it is. I enjoyed vac chaos before I got banned, hope to be able to enjoy it again.
