Battle H.U.D -X Alpha 8

FEATURES:

Two parts in this project.
Battle HUD executable
BF2.dll module

The dll is just a raw assembly module that holds the caves, the dll must be injected
prior to starting Battle HUD-X. Eventually HUD will inject the modules but
the project is in the early stage so use Winject by McMike.
Follow these instructions completely and in the order given.

(Winject is McMikes program to handle the module injection.

Experienced with Injection, use whatever works, otherwise for:

Alternatevely you can just:
1. Launch BF2, Join Server and wait for map to fully load, then minimize BF2.
2. Open Winject, Select BF2.exe in "Target Process" from the DROP DOWN menu.
3. "DLL to inject" is bf2dll.dll, choose it from the browse button with the 3 dots "..."
4. "Inject" and after its injected close winject!
5. Open Hud X.exe, Check the hack Options you want.
6. Maximize game and Go back to BF2 to play.


A project like this gives Punkbuster the opportunity to fully detect the hack
without increasing the scan ranges because they can detect the .dll only since
Battle HUD will not work without the dll module injected. What they will do though, I guess we'll find out.
Either way the scan range will increase to some degree with with the newly
released hacks now.
Also this project is good for some of you new bf2 hackers to debug for examples.
The caves use a combination of methods to rebuild the program flow,
like redirecting Call functions, bringing the caved functions down to the Retn commands, single large caves holding multiple hacked offset options before Returning/Jumping back.

I added Battle HUD-X v0.8.2a:

The only change is enable all does not activate View-Distance
or Icon Display.
Some people don't use them and if you activate view-distance you
must specify a view distance setting that the game will keep for the entire
game duration unless you manually change it in the combo-box.
If you like the original releases enable all option there is
no reason even to download this version.
Remember View-distance forces the computer to render a lot
more graphics and can cause serious performance issues if your
computer can't handle it.

View-Distance explained:

Each map may have a different view-distance level, lets take Mashtuur_city for example.
You can check the maps view-distance default level by going to your
Game Folder\mods\bf2\Levels\Mashtuur_City\server.zip\In it.con
Find
GameLogic.MaximumLevelViewDistance

In Mashtuur_city you will see it is only 200.

Now if you change that setting to 2,000 meters its a very substantial increase, and
frankly totally unnecessary. Personally, I normally go 200 meters above the map levels default.

In addition, once you use HUDs view-distance change, It stays on the setting you specify
in the combo-box (unless you minimize and change it) regardless of what map gets loaded.
Now that you guys make me think about it, the ideal solution would be 2 configurable
hotkeys, 1 for increase distance, and 1 for decrease distance. Sound like a good idea?

No Fog Explained:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No fog will stop rendering any fog within the game maps default view-distance level.
So if the levels view-distance is 200 like Mashtuur_City, there will be no fog within
the 200 meters. Someone correct me if I am wrong but I don't believe the No Fog
will cause much lag by itself. However, as explained above, forcing the computer to
render x10 the distance can dramatically effect the performance.

Punkbuster Information Questions

people have expressed concerned to me injecting a dll because of past
bad injection experiences with PB and/or cause of handfuls of new people coming from uh, "undisclosed locations" with hardware/gui bans. To that I can only say:
This is the same as all the memory hacks I have released in the past, the only
difference is the caves are loaded with my dll module rather then poking into
empty game code addresses.
Any Jump re-direct from the bf2 game to my module, once modified, it stays modified and you can't un-modify it.
PB can fully detect the modification if scanning in the right places to target it. In addition now PB can also just detect the injected module as the hack will not work without the injected module. As always they make the rules, I don't know exactly what
is "crossing the line". However sticking to these basic rules and purposely designing the hacks so PB can easily detect them, I have released at least a dozen
BF Vietnam & BF 2 hacks through the years without a single guid/hardware ban.
You can check these facts searching my release history here on MPC /UC/ my forum, and scroll right to end of the thread when each and every one of my releases becomes filled with detection reports. I don't break these simple rules and I don't try challenge punkbuster, one day they may just say, hell we'll ban for everything, Who knows for sure, just stating the past facts.

What type of ban would you expect, if detected? I've never used any injection type hacks, but since it's actually modifiying the exe would it would constitute a perm ban... (when it's detected)

No one else has had any problems, here and at http://www.dubbls.com/forum/. Maybe if you give more details; did you folow instructions etc, then more ppl might be able to help.
