This is (maybe/probably) as far as the "No-Blind-Spots" project will be released public wise so far.

This is a SERVER-SIDE "No-Blind-spot" pk3 version for Stalingrad.

Thus, meaning that if this pk3 file is hosted by (ONLY) the server, blind-spots will be fully removed for all clients ONLY FOR STALINGRAD (mohdm6).

Video of a demonstration can be seen HERE.

Client-Side version is still private. Don't ask.

Credits: fYCcreationZ (including me) & m0d hippY (X-NULL).

Anyone reproducing this (or already has *coughcdcough* for screenshots/videos or ANYTHING as of today; [check post date]) is fYC and x-NULL's bitch!

Ok.. I saw this thread yesterday? Deleted?

Shame your only releasing server side but blind spots arnt that annoying anyway really.. Only in a few places and when people are afk or something.

nice release weed. Weed and I have been trying to tackle this thing for awhile now. I just want to add. for those of you that say "no talking about private stuff" or "Can you please tell me how you did it I promise I wont tell anyone" and all the other ram jam ppl say... Well this would be the time to look at stwh and actually "understand it" cause this mod if you want to call it that uses the same mapping skills. Its different theory but if people bothered understanding how maps work .. then it would all make sense! Which is once again why I released the src.. for you my children to learn from. Take the time trust me its worth it. Thats how ive been managing to get this stuff done. Knowledge is really a virtue in life.. and modding

Nice release.

I don't think that there is many people left that would know what to do if the method was released public anyway, but it's an old and dieing game ....

I know that editing maps server side you can remove various aspects of the map including VIS, Area Portals, Caulk/No Texture's

I remember someone years ago creating a texture hack by editing the textures in the map client-side which was amazing when it was done for the first time.

I bet spending time finding out exactly how the map rendering and loading is done you can remove anything you like client-side including the Models, Terrain, Portals etc etc

I'll probably take a look at doing things like this client-side i'll post if i have any success.

Not many people new what to do with the STWH method, but it gets around, a couple of people learn how to do it and the hack will be leaked..

yeah but the hack is almost patched now too. I couldnt believe how easy it was.. guess people overlooked it.

It's not that easy man.
Only so much info relies strictly on serverside. And alot both serverside/clentside. And only so much clientside.

And then if your bsp is a different size than the client... the client cant connect.

I can go on all day.

Like I said, it's not that easy... it gets complicated and is very tedious.

Its possible via server-side patch. Its a combonation of modifications. But it works.

Just wondered but will this at all make any difference even if you aren't using chams will people show up in like windows which are supposedly blind spots? Or is this not what this is about? Just wondered.

hope someone can answer just a bit sketchy on it, cheers.

This is only a server-side version for Stalingrad only.
Server-side meaning it only works if uploaded to server.
And yes it will work without chams.
Other maps are also possible. Just havent been done for release.

I thought m0d said it was easy and he was surprised no-one had thought of it before, and if anyone knew anything about mapping they would realise this.. but Weed your saying its complicated and tedious? Is m0d talking about the method and u talking about actually making it or something?

Server-side version is done via .pk3 and client-side is done via client hooking. Totally different.

Ah right thats quality really is, annoying maps like on Hunt where theres loads of blind spots would be a quality map to have this on, be immense.

Sorry for getting off topic. there are 2 parts to stopping STWH. Atm its not being released cause were planning on patching other stuff.
Im not getting into detail with this yet, but if any of you have any ideas to make the game better and more fair feel free to let me know and ill see what I can do. Everything that is going to be done as far as pk3's go are strictly focusing on serverside patches, but there will be a client\serverside patch that fixes certain things in the game that EA never bothered to get done.
