Rocket trail hack?

is there a way to remove it altogether? i was horsing around with different commands earlier and found r_particle_timescale, put it at 999 and it removed most of the trails. Took a big fps hit though. Is there another way?
I looked around in the gcf's for the trail textures and found a few, edited it, but the trails still appear!!
Big time GG's to whoever can make a rocket trail hack!

Well, I'd prefer a bit more than GG's, but here you go.

EDIT, Oh damn, missed a few. Hold on, I'll do them a bit later.

EDIT2: Try again.

Wow thanks for the quick response! Unfortunately that doesn't work. You did give me a good idea though, to use that nodraw cmd for the flame thrower GG's for you anyway.
Any other ideas how to remove the rocket trail tho?

I'm using your edit2 .rar as well.. The one with all 3 vmt's. Nothing works. Looks like it's built into the game itself. Hope not though. Maybe it's a
model/sprite somewhere?

edit: There's a rockettrail.pcf in the particles content gcf. not sure how to edit it though. any ideas?

edit2: Ok n/m. Looks like we both missed this little guy: effects\rockettrailsmoke.vmt - works like a charm now. YAY GG'S FOR ME.

Or, you could just set in consol:

r_particle_timescale 0.0001 The explosions look cool if you do it!
