[Fix] Windows SP2: CoD / UO / CoD 2 Crashing Problems
this error is usually caused by windows Xp service pack 2
there are loads of threads on this topic if u just look, u can un-install this and that will fix the error The reason for this error is b'cuz the hack needs to inject itself into the game sp2 stops it from doin this The exe is used to load the dll "the hack" into the game, sp2 changes the windows boot.ini file so it stops the exe from loading the .dll into game, hence the error message one way to fix this is to remove sp2 my computer>control panel>remove programs>delete all things (SP2) or there is "i think" a fix for sp2, just do a search on the forum and you should find the fix i am talking about. Any other threads posted on this topic will be deleted/removed as soon as i see them hence the name of this thread, greetz || KiLLzAr ||

Another possible reason for the "CoDMP.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" error:
Make sure you have a US / British copy of Windows and game. If you do not have a US / British copy of either, then you are out of luck. Do not ask where to obtain these versions. Also, do the following: 1. Go to Start, Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs. 2. Scroll all the way down the list until you see a bunch of Windows XP Hotfixes. 3. Next to the word "Hotfix," there is the Hotfix number (KB######). Write each of these Hotfix numbers down. 4. Go to www.google.com and do a search for each of the Hotfix numbers (one per search). 5. Look at the search results. If SP2 is mentioned, make a note of the Hotfix number. 6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you have researched every installed Hotfix. 7. Be sure to make a backup of your system before uninstalling the Hotfixes that involve SP2. Once you have finished backing up your system, follow the on-screen instructions to remove the SP2-related Hotfixes. If you still have no luck: 1. Navigate to your CoD directory. 2. Find the game executable (CoDMP.exe or CoDUOMP.exe). 3. Right click the game executable and click Properties. 4. Click the compatibility tab. 5. Under Compatibility mode, click the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select Windows 2000 from the drop-down list. 6. Click Apply and then click OK. 7. Retry the hack. If all else fails: Move to the United States and buy a new computer. Last edited by BlackDove; 18th February 2005 at 21:26.. |

If the above solutions do not work for you, try this:
1.) Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Advanced Tab > Startup and Recovery Settings Button > System Startup Edit button. 2.) Your boot.ini file will open for editing. Change "/noexecute=xxxxx" to "/noexecute=AlwaysOff" 3.) Save it and restart your computer. 4.) See if your hacks work. Here is another method you may want try as described by "DopEHeaD": Quote:
